The disappearance of Ambrose Small
On 2 December 1919, millionaire Ambrose Small disappeared right after signing a lucrative business deal. The theatre magnate had made many enemies with his gambling, philandering and nefarious business dealings. Was he murdered, or did he run off with a “designing woman,” as his wife speculated? While no trace of him was ever found, the mystery has captivated Canadians ever since.
